Katie is an artist who loves to make. Her practice is seen through the lens of her Cornish world she calls "The Parish of Milk". This small domain of rurality holds her; allowing for connection to the 'left behind' wonder of past times. Through story telling, Katie searches for seasonal tales to craft as pottery sculpture, carve into wood cut prints and onto stitch vintage linen smocks.
Katie is currently undertaking an MA in Fine Art at Arts University Plymouth to further these crafts.
Her ongoing research asks:
How does a renewed connection with folklore, land and ritual reveal the ways belief materialises through art?
This question guides her exploration of clay, story, and performance as methods of embodying old knowledge and creating new rituals of place. Through these practices, Katie seeks to engage with the historical relationships between material and rurality.
Her work aims to reveal how the rhythms and rituals of rural life continue to inform contemporary understandings of belonging and belief.

Katie’s studio is based at Lower Scarsick, Treneglos, near Launceston, Cornwall.
Studio visits are welcomed by appointment.
